Introduction
PTGUI is a user interface software developed by Mr. Joost Nieuwenhuijse's New House company in the Netherlands for Mr. Helmut Dersch's panoramic splicing tool Panorama Tools in Germany.
Panorama Tools is a panoramic creation tool, but it requires users to write script commands to work. PTGui creates high-quality panoramic images by providing a visual interface for Panorama Tools to achieve image stitching.
Sifang Envision has been in use since version 0.15 in 2000, and as of April 2022, PTGUI has been upgraded to version 12.11.
Software Introduction
PTGUI is a powerful panoramic image stitching software, whose five letters come from the Panorama Tools Graphical User Interface. It has been upgraded to version 12 since 1996 (2022).
PTGui can quickly and conveniently create a 360X180 degree "full spherical panorama", with a very simple workflow: 1. Import a set of original negatives; 2. Run automatic alignment control points; 3. Generate and save panoramic image files.
The software can automatically read the lens parameters of the film, identify pixel features in overlapping areas of the image, and then automatically stitch them in the form of control points, and optimize fusion. The panoramic image editor in the software has richer functions, supporting multiple view mapping methods. Users can also manually add or remove control points to improve the accuracy of stitching. The software supports multiple formats of image file input, and the output can be selected as a high dynamic range image. The concatenated image has uniform brightness and basically no obvious stitching marks. The software provides Windows and MAC versions.
