Qt has provided end-to-end tools for automotive HMI design, development, testing, and deployment, all built on the same code repository. This enables designers, technical artists, developers, and testing engineers to use the same language. By leveraging the powerful features of AWS, developers can utilize the entire digital twin built to complete 90% of development and testing in the cloud. In the final stage of development, the remaining 10% of the work can be ported to physical hardware for final testing and validation.
Qt Group's research shows that as the development momentum of software defined cars becomes stronger, about one-third of automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are investing in digital twin technology to enhance in car user interfaces and user experiences (UI/UX).
"This is a significant progress for us, essentially Qt's new business flow," said Juhapekka Niemi, Senior Vice President of Product Management at Qt Group. "Providing our solutions through AWS Marketplace and supporting development on AWS means bringing Qt's brand and products to millions of users and developers.". We will also bring Qt's advantages in AWS to vertical fields such as medical device design and industrial automation, and look forward to this prospect
"Adding our tool suite to AWS Marketplace will save OEMs a lot of development and testing time, reduce iteration and prototype design workload," added Patrick Dalez, Business Director of Qt Group. "Ultimately, this can alleviate OEM's supply chain challenges.". They no longer need to wait for the shipment and arrival of chip orders. If there are supply chain issues or chip failures leading to increased procurement, order delivery will be severely delayed. With the help of cloud computing, they can easily control everything. Once development and testing are completed, everything built in the cloud can be migrated to physical hardware for final testing and validation
At CES 2024, AWS will showcase its latest cloud services and solutions specifically designed for the automotive and other industries. In addition to demonstrating its software defined automotive solutions at the AWS booth, Qt Group will also showcase its collaboration with other partners at West Hall W310, including AMD, Nvidia, Qualcomm, NXP, Texas Instruments, Renesas, Real Time Innovations (RTI), and STMicroelectronics.
Qt Group's tools are very suitable for designing, developing, and testing products, as developers and designers can collaborate within the same framework. Car companies can also benefit from the scalability of the Qt framework by applying Qt on all in car screens, including head up displays, passenger screens, and rear infotainment systems to digital instrument panels.
