MathType is a powerful mathematical formula editor plugin that excels in formula layout and has strong compatibility, making it suitable for academic papers, research reports, and teaching courseware production.
1、 How to insert chemical formulas into MathType?
When writing a paper, do you find it very troublesome to input various chemical formulas with subscripts, roots, double arrows, and other elements? In this case, using a professional formula editor like MathType can greatly reduce the workload, and it also supports handwritten formula recognition. When encountering particularly complex molecular structures, it can be directly handwritten input.
1. Download and install the software, follow the instructions to integrate MathType into Word, and then open the Word software. The MathType tab will appear in the toolbar. Click the [Inline] option to open the MathType editor panel.

2. In the MathType editing window, there are three main functional areas: toolbar, template selection area, and formula editing area. The template area mainly provides preset templates for various formulas, including but not limited to fractions, radicals, subscripts, summation symbols, integration symbols, matrices, reaction equation arrows, etc.

How to export high-definition formulas using MathType?
MathType not only supports inputting formulas, but also exports formulas as high-definition images, which is very convenient for users who need to insert formulas into journal articles. Below are two export methods:
Method 1: Insert the current document directly
After entering all the formulas, click on the 'File' option in the toolbar, select the 'Close and Return to Document' setting in the drop-down list, and directly insert the formulas into the document being edited.

Method 2: Export as Image File
To insert equations into other documents, click on the [File] - [Save Copy As] option. In the open Save As window, MathType provides multiple export formats.

If you want to insert in Word or PowerPoint, you can choose the graphic element file (*. wmf) format, which is a vector graphics format that can maintain the original clarity whether zooming in or out of the image; If you need to submit journal articles or engage in professional printing and publishing, it is recommended to choose encapsulated Post/none (*. eps), which is suitable for printing and publishing.
